The latest People’s Postcode Lottery campervan ad is now live and we thought we’d give you a little glimpse from behind the scenes. The challenge was quite simple on the surface, we needed a nice scenic view, opening out into a town for the team to drive down in a vintage red VW campervan. And believe it or not finding the perfect location was easy. . . well easy'ish.

But finding a red VW campervan? Not so much.

The brief was very specific. It had to be red -postcode lottery red (obviously). Not burnt orange. Not cherry red. Not deep pink. Red. Also, it needed to have a bay windscreen that we could shoot our presenters through. There's loads of them - right? Wrong!

And so began our great camper hunt. We looked high and low, to no avail. It was only after a great deal of searching, head-scratching and joining way too many V-Dubber facebook groups, that we found the perfect one -parked right outside the office.

It felt like our luck was in. Director Walter Grant loved it and everything began falling into place. We quickly found a driver (used to driving vintage cars) and brought DOP Keith Ingram in to get things rolling. Literally.

In order to get the shot he needed, the crew set up camp on a low loader pulling the camper – with its 'drivers', People's Postcode Lottery AmbassadorsEssex-favourite Jeff Brazier, Matt Johnson & Judie McCourt – behind. The results were fantastic, in fact you can see just how great in our behind the scenes film.

After we’d got the team on the move, we shot the next part of the ad and met up with X-Factor star Danyl Johnson in our café - with our VFX team on location keeping an eye on everything,  as they will be the people adding the campervan into key shots back in the edit suite it made life so easy having them there.

Shot in the west end of Glasgow, we have to say the lovely people at Beefcake café served up one of the best location lunches we’ve ever had!
